Banker chic

In Guy Ritchie’s film Snatch the main character “Turkish” played by Jason Statham wears a dress shirt with a “white bankers’ collar” prominently throughout the entire movie.

Originally a white collar was detachable and held to the shirt by the use of two studs.  Some say the US version was invented in 1827 by a housewife named Hannah Montague of Troy NY who was having trouble keeping her husband’s shirt collars clean. The “white collar” soon became a division of the classes and a status symbol among the growing clerical workers.  Today the white bankers collar is still very much alive and popular among all classes from Rakes to Rogues.  Snatch one up now!
